Ritonavir
is a protease inhibitor antiretroviral prescribed for the treatment of HIV infection and AIDs. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of ritonavir concentrations in patient serum is performed to avoid concentration-related adverse effects such as hepatic and renal toxicity.
