Thiamine pyrophosphate, also known as TPP or ThPP, is the biologically active form of vitamin B1. It is usually measured in whole blood or in plasma. While plasma thiamine concentration reflects recent intake rather than body stores, whole blood is the preferred specimen for thiamine assessment.
