Cerilliant Introduces 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3 Certified Reference Solution
In April, 2009, Cerilliant introduced the first certified reference solution of 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3 (H-072). 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3 is a major intermediate in the conversion of Vitamin D3 or Cholecalciferol to 1,25-Dihydroxy Vitamin D, the biologically active form of Vitamin D. Vitamin D nutritional status is often determined by clinical or diagnostic testing of 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D (calcidiol) levels in blood.

Vitamin D is well known as a hormone involved in mineral metabolism and bone growth. Classic manifestations of Vitamin D deficiency include rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults.
